Job Description
The Wakefield Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered Spanish teacher at the Galvin Middle School effective September 1, 2022. Candidates will be responsible for teaching Spanish to grades 5-8. Interested individuals should demonstrate the ability to design and facilitate engaging lessons that incorporate communicative activities, authentic resources, and comprehensible input as effective instructional strategies to support language and intercultural proficiency.
Responsibilities
Align units to the ACTFL Core Practices and World-Readiness Standards.
Develop cultural competence through student discourse and collaboration.
Create a differentiated environment that supports the learning styles and emotional needs of all students.
Assess and evaluate students’ educational progress and abilities using formative and summative measures.
Collaborate with a team of world language educators to create common assessments, analyze student work, and implement new teaching strategies.
Communicate with parents, administration, and students regarding academic content, expectations, and student progress.
Attend to all teacher duties and professional development.
Qualifications: Job Requirements
Massachusetts certification in Spanish
At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
Bachelor degree
Citizenship, residency, or work visa in the United States required
Language/Languages: Spanish
