Job Information:
The World Language Department of Concord-Carlisle High School is seeking a part time Spanish teacher for the 2022-23 school year.
This is a long term substitute .5 FTE position, for two sections of Spanish 2 OR one section of Spanish 2 and one section of AP Spanish (TBD).
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Spanish language grade-level curriculum and for differentiating instruction for four classes of Spanish per week in a student-centered classroom, using the target language for most instruction and interactions. S/he must have substantive knowledge of the Spanish language and the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries, as well as an understanding of the best pedagogies necessary to teach world languages.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Current MA teacher certification and Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Spanish.
The successful candidate will also be able to support the whole student in developing 21st-century learning skills in collaboration with parents, colleagues, and community members. Familiarity with ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages, practices based upon Comprehensible Input for language acquisition, and Differentiated Instruction to work towards proficiency is preferred. Experience with AP Spanish and with international trips or exchanges is a plus.
Mastery of classroom technology skills is preferred; strong and written and verbal communication skills are a must. Self-reflection skills, data analysis competencies, and the ability to effectively collaborate with others are essential.
