Job Information:
Wellesley Public Schools is hiring a dynamic, motivated, and collaborative educator to join the Elementary World Languages Department. Spanish classes are part of the WPS core curriculum; thus, all students receive Spanish instruction three times a week for thirty minutes. WPS is committed to joyful, interactive world language learning based on ACTFL proficiency targets at all grade levels.
Qualifications: Job Requirements
Candidates are expected to have native or near-native fluency in Spanish. Qualified candidates will have significant experience in content-enriched language instruction at the elementary school level (grades K-5). The ideal candidates will have a MA license in an elementary world language. Competitive candidates will be committed to student-centered teaching and have experience in teaching, developing curriculum, standards-based assessment, and collaborating with other teachers and administrators. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and management skills are essential to the role, as is a passion for working with elementary school students.
Desirable candidates will adhere to and exemplify the standards as set by the Wellesley Teacher Evaluation Rubric:
· Curriculum, Planning, and Assessment: To promote the learning and growth of all students by providing high-quality and coherent instruction, designing and administering authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student performance and growth data, using this data to improve instruction, providing students with constructive feedback on an ongoing basis, and continuously refining learning objectives.
· Teaching All Students: To promote the learning and growth of all students through instructional practices that establish high expectations, create a safe and effective classroom environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency.
