Position Title: Bilingual Museum Educator
Location: Harvard University Museum of Science and Culture, Cambridge, MA
The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) seeks a dynamic bilingual youth educator for a full-time benefitted position coordinating the project Hear Me Out/Escúchame: Expanding Hispanic Engagement Through Collaboration. Working in the museum education department, the role will build robust partnerships with Latinx and other diverse communities. The museum educator will design and co-facilitate online and/or face-to-face workshops in English and Spanish, soliciting teen thoughts and feelings on contemporary issues related to the exhibits in our cultural and natural history museums. They will use technologies (i.e., videoconferencing, photography, social media) to broaden access to museum resources for a non-college audience. Seeking creative person with a background in culture studies or the humanities and youth and Latinx community-building experience.
BA or higher in anthropology, education, or other social science or humanities field
Minimum 2 years experience working with K-12 school or family audiences
Ability to read, write and speak Spanish
