Brooks School seeks candidates for the position of Chinese teacher. This appointment will be effective July 1, 2020.

A full-time teaching position includes teaching four sections, coaching two sports/activities, residential, and performing community responsibilities.
The ideal Chinese teacher candidate should be able to teach language, literature and culture, and have native or near-native fluency in Mandarin.

Qualifications: Innovative teaching practices and a focus on skills-centered learning
Interest and practice of using technology for instruction
Native or near native fluency in Chinese
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within the department to enhance our curriculum
Bachelor’s degree required in Chinese education, literature and/or culture; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 1-3 years of teaching experience in a 9-12 world language program (or applicable practicum experience)
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
Strong writing skills
