We are thrilled to announce that Heidemarie Floerke, German Teacher at Boston Latin School, has been named MAFLA’s Teacher of the Year!
Heidemarie has over 20 years experience teaching German. A native of Canada, Heidemarie grew up and attended school in Germany graduating with the German Abitur. She moved back to Canada after high school and attended the University of Toronto earning a Masters Degree and BEd. She moved to the US and taught in Melrose, Lexington and Boston as a German, ESL, Latin, Special Ed and English teacher. She currently teaches German 3, German 4 and AP German Language at Boston Latin School. Her students often remark on her creativity and energy as well as her high standards. Heidemarie loves her job but especially loves bringing the German language and culture to her students in Boston Public Schools.
