Job Information:
Boston Latin Academy, a leading exam school in the Boston Public School system, has an opening for a full time Spanish teacher. The position is for one class of Spanish 2, one class of Spanish 3 and three classes of Spanish 4. We have detailed curriculum maps for each level and textbooks for teacher’s use. We have a very collegial World Languages department with four Spanish teachers, 2 Japanese teachers, 1 Chinese teacher, 1 Arabic teacher and 2 French teachers.
Qualifications: The qualifications for this Spanish teaching position are:
-Spanish certification in the state of Massachusetts (grades 5 – 12)
– excellent content knowledge of the Spanish language and culture
– ability to teacher lower and upper levels of Spanish
-ability to collaborate well with our WL team
-ability to support students’ success in Spanish by incorporating listening, reading, writing and speaking activities in the target language
-ability to conduct 90%+ of the lesson in the target language
