Position Title: High School Heritage Spanish Teacher
Start Date: 08/10/2022
End Date:
Location: KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate, Lynn, MA
Job Information:
We are a public charter school about 10 miles north of Boston. We are a small school with about 500 students total. We have Spanish and French as our world languages, the majority of our school being bilingual in Spanish. We are looking for a Heritage Spanish teacher for both the first and second levels (this usually means 9th and 10th grade). This would likely be 4 class periods total, with the potential of one “coverage”, meaning if there is another teacher out you would help cover a class period. Our hours are generally 7:30-4:30 with some exceptions. Other common teacher duties may include lunch duty, monitoring common spaces during passing time, etc. It is a very fun work environment with exceptional students!
Qualifications: The Heritage Spanish teacher should be someone whose first language is Spanish, or who grew up in a bilingual environment. The teacher needs to pass the Spanish and basic communications MTEL exams within the first year of employment.
Our school is also deeply committed to anti-racist and anti-bias practices, and teachers are expected to continue on their own journey of learning and unlearning while at the school.
Language/Languages: Spanish as a Heritage Language
