Why I Joined MAFLA

MAFLA has been more than a professional organization for me, it has also been a personal community. Since joining first as a volunteer, then as a member, a board member, and now as part of the presidential track, I have always felt seen, supported, and valued. Much of what I know about being a world language educator and leader in the field has grown through MAFLA’s professional development and the opportunities to present, lead, and learn from colleagues. I owe a great deal to this community. MAFLA is a group of dedicated world language educators who volunteer their time because we believe in contributing to a more multilingual society.
