This is a full-time position (includes homeroom and advisory) teaching 5 sections of Spanish: Spanish 2A, Spanish 2H, and Spanish 3H. We have a collaborative team of 6 additional Spanish teachers and a high school department of 14 total. Opportunities for professional learning and mentoring and working towards thematic unit based-instruction.
Qualifications: Candidates should have advanced oral proficiency in Spanish and demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English. Candidates should have knowledge of research-based effective world language pedagogy; the ACTFL World-Readiness for Language Learning Standards; ability to use a variety of materials and modes of instruction, including facility with technology and access to online authentic resources; effective techniques for classroom management and developing relationships with students; and ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
Valid Massachusetts DESE teaching licensure, Foreign Language [Spanish], Grades 5-12, is required, but exemption possible for an otherwise qualified candidate.
